Want a Money-Saving Tip That Literally Costs Nothing to Implement?

Take good care of yourself.

Yep, that’s it. Take good care of yourself and you can save a lot of money.

If you find yourself short of cash this month, come see us at CASH 1 and we’ll help you with cash installment loans, auto title loans or-

Oh, you want to know what we mean, don’t you?

Eat Right and Save Money

Though the cheap food tends to be, well, cheaper, easier to store and has longer shelf life, good healthy food actually isn’t more expensive. Forget the “organic” section at your local grocery store. Yes that food is grown without use of pesticides and growth hormones and whatnot, but it’s also marked up quite a bit, and repeated studies have shown it’s no healthier for you than the what’s in the produce section. Take a look at what kinds of foods are healthiest for you and spend a little time in the kitchen. Too tired after work? Make a salad; you’ll start dropping weight with just one salad a day in place of what you would normally eat. We recommend lunch for salads (breakfast salads just sound too weird) to save money.

Exercise

There’s no law that says you have to belong to an expensive gym. In fact, there’s no law that says you have to look like a supermodel to be in shape. The key to exercising in order to be healthy is building up the muscles and stamina in order to get the body functioning at peak efficiency. Get outside and take a twenty-minute walk; do this three times a week. In a month you will already be feeling better. It doesn’t even have to be a brisk walk, just the act of getting out and moving, breathing, and taking yourself away from the normal stresses of life will get the heart going and improve your health. And speaking of stress…

Reduce Stress

Take a good hard look at your finances, your bills, your expenses, your home, your circumstances…find out what things you can control, and what things you can’t. Are you worried about that bill? Pay it. If you can’t, then stop focusing on it until you can pay it. Pay a late fee if you have to, but a few bucks extra on a late paid bill is much better than the toll stress can take on your physical and mental health. Engage in activities that help you relax. Stress is a leading cause of heart attack in the United States, behind heart disease. As a society, we worry about too much, and it’s taking a toll on our health.

Get a Dog

Yes, dogs cost a few bucks a month, but they will help greatly reduce both issues listed above. Walking a dog is a great way to get exercise and study after study has shown the stress-reducing effect pets have on a person’s well-being. If you do get a dog, we encourage you to adopt one from a rescue shelter or humane society location. A lot of good dogs need good homes (Cats too, but those are really hard to take for walks). How do these things save you money? By greatly reducing the necessity for doctor’s visits and prescription drug costs. Take care of yourself and you will seriously reduce the need for a medical professional to take care of you.
